Electric Co-op Linemen Compete in Regional Rodeo

Prince George Electric Cooperative (PGEC) employees joined nearly 150 utility professionals from five states to compete in the 15th Annual Gaff-n-Go Lineman's Rodeo, held May 19-20 at Meadow Event Park in Doswell, VA.

A PGEC team competed in the Equipment Operators Rodeo on Friday, where they finished third in the Digger Derrick Obstacle event.  On Saturday, a team of Journeyman Linemen competed in five events as part of the journeyman competition.  To round out events, PGEC also had a Gaff-n-Go-Grill team who placed fourth in the BBQ competition.

Named for the spike linemen attach to their boots when climbing electric utility poles, the Gaff-n-Go Lineman's Rodeo is organized by the Virginia, Maryland & Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives.  The events are designed to promote safety and teamwork - essentials in the day to day work these employees perform.
