2021 Rural Electric Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.

Tentative Dates for 2021: June 18 - June 25, 2021

The 2021 Youth Tour Application Cycle will open later this year.

This program is open to all high school and home-schooled Juniors in the Prince George Electric Cooperative service areas whose parent(s) or guardian(s) is a member of PGEC. Participants must complete an application form, write a brief essay, and submit a 30-second video showing why the should be selected for Youth Tour 2021 to be considered for the contest.

Students who are selected for the four available Rural Electric Youth Tour spots sponsored by PGEC will join over 1,500 high school students from the U.S. to learn about electric cooperatives, American history, and the United States government. Students will also visit the historic sites of the nation’s capital and get a chance to meet with their congressional leaders. Representing PGEC on this trip is an excellent way to bolster college applications.

Please email your completed application, along with your video and essay (as a Word document) to Renee Chapline, vice president of communications and member engagement (rchapline@pgec.coop) with the subject line "Youth Tour Application."
